“This past weekend we were able to finally earn that second win,” said Sanchez. “Charlotte is the team’s home track and being able to celebrate my car chief’s, Chris Showalter, 700th truck start with a win was even better. However, we are switching our focus and strategy to the shorter WWTR. We have two wins now on a 1.5-mile and 2.5-mile track. I hope to now show our competitiveness on this mile and a quarter.” Last season, Sanchez was able to qualify 9th at WWTR and finished in 8th.

Sanchez will join the competition on Friday, May 31st, at 6:05 PM ET for a 20-minute qualifying session, followed by one lap qualifying at 6:35 PM ET. The start of the 160-lap and 200-mile race is set for 1:30 PM ET on Saturday, June 1st. The entire event will be live on FS1, MRN, and Rev Racing social media.

Truck chief Chris Showalter to make 700th start in the series

Truck chief Chris Showalter to make 700th start in the series

May 23, 2024

Concord, NCAs the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) waves the green flag at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday night’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200, there will be one individual who will check the box on race number 700.

Chris Showalter “Showie”, truck chief on the No. 2 Gainbridge Chevrolet, has been working in the NCTS since the inaugural race on Feb. 5, 1995 at Phoenix Raceway.

“It’s hard to believe this will be race number 700,” said Showalter. “I think it has been the community of people that I have worked with over the years that keeps me coming back season after season. These people have truly become family. It’s easy to come to work and go to battle everyday when you are with your best friends.”

Showalter started off his career with the Ohio-based Liberty Racing and driver Butch Miller in 1995. He excelled quickly by being a truck chief, moving to ThorSport Racing for a year before making the move to North Carolina to work for Joe Gibbs Racing and drivers J.D. and Coy Gibbs.

Showalter also served as the truck chief for Travis Kvapil’s 2003 championship-winning season. He spent a good portion of his career at Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM). Showalter recalled this time at KBM as being some of the best moments in his career.

In 2023, Showalter car chiefed Nick Sanchez’s rookie year in the NCTS. Sanchez drove the No. 2 Gainbridge Chevrolet with Rev Racing who had a technical alliance with KBM.
Showalter was a huge part of Sanchez’s rookie success, boasting 2 top 5s, 12 top 10’s and 5 poles.

He continued to work with Sanchez, in 2024, after the Spire Motorsports acquisition last year. In February, Sanchez, Showalter and team celebrated their first victory together at Daytona International Speedway in the 2024 NCTS opener. They are currently sitting 4th in points, with 5 top 5s, 7 top 10s and 2 poles.

“It was great starting off the season with a win,” said Nick Sanchez. “More importantly, it was a testament to how hard the team works to bring the best truck each week to the track. I am extremely lucky to work with and rely on Showie and the guys. His knowledge is vast and his experience is extremely beneficial to our race success. Cheers to 700 on a day that also happens to be his birthday. We are hopeful to celebrate in victory lane.”

Fans can catch practice for the 201-mile event at 1:35 PM ET on Friday, May 24th, followed by qualifying at 2:05 PM ET. The North Carolina Lottery 200 is set to kick off at 8:30 PM ET. Tune in to FS1, MRN, or Rev Racing’s social media channels for live coverage of the event.

Celebrating 20 Years of History, Rev Racing and Partners Announce Darlington Throwback Scheme

May 8th, 2024

Concord, NC– Marking 20 years of unparalleled history and impact, Rev Racing is set to honor the legacy of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Development Program and Pit Crew Development Program at Darlington Raceway in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. May 10th – 12th will mark NASCAR’s official throwback weekend. Rev Racing, along with its partners, will pay homage to the 20th anniversary with a dedicated “throwback” paint scheme.

Img 5145In 2004 the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Development Program was launched to train drivers from diverse backgrounds, both on and off the track. Max Siegel, Rev Racing Owner, was brought on by NASCAR in 2009 to manage the competition side of the Program. Under the stewardship of Rev Racing, this program brings together championship-caliber executives, staff, and equipment in an academy-style environment. Headquartered in Concord, N.C. the team, owned by Max Siegel and Jennifer Siegel, stands as a beacon of inclusiveness, opportunity and excellence in the motorsports realm.

“We could not be more thrilled about the growth of our race team and the partnership with NASCAR over the last several years,” Rev Racing Owner Max Siegel said. “As a first-class development program, we are not only seeing participation from our graduates in the national series, but they are winning and succeeding at the highest level in the sport. We have never been more positioned for continued advancement and success. We remain energized by the impact our collective partnerships have created over the years and look forward to what the future holds.”

The legacy of the program shines through the achievements of its graduates, such as Kyle Larson, Bubba Wallace, and Daniel Suarez etching their names in NASCAR history. As a testament to this legacy, Gainbridge is partnering with Rev Racing to unveil the throwback scheme for the Buckle Up South Carolina 200. “We’re really excited to be partnering with Rev Racing and the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program to run the 20th anniversary throwback scheme at Darlington,” said Mike Nichols, Chief of Sponsorship Strategy & Activation at Group 1001. “It is a great time to celebrate everything that has been accomplished over the last 20 years. We feel proud to be a part of this effort and the success that Nick and Rev Racing have shown over the last several years.”

Competitively, the drivers and pit crew members continue to find success. After the first 6 National Series races in 2024, four of the drivers came from Rev Racing as participants of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Development Program. These stats are a shared success with its partners as well as their manufacturing alignment with Chevrolet.

With experience at Kansas Speedway, Sanchez has a history of success on this track. In the 2023 NCTS, he qualified and finished in 6th place. Additionally, in the 2022 ARCA Menards Series (AMS), Sanchez started 3rd, led 42 laps, and celebrated in victory lane.

“Kansas Speedway is a track I enjoy,” remarked Sanchez. “We’ve had success here in the past, and secured a win in the ARCA series. In the last race, we were competitive, and I’m confident we’ll show the same level of performance this weekend. We’re aiming for another win here, just in a different series.”

Practice for The Heart of America 200 is scheduled for 12:05 PM ET, followed by qualifying at 12:35 PM ET. The race is set to kick off at 8:00 PM ET, with Sanchez competing for 134 laps. Fans can catch all the action live on FS1, MRN, and Rev Racing’s social media platforms.
