Rev Racing captures first Arca Menards Series 2022 victory at Talledega

Concord, NC — Rev Racing returned to action this past Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway for the running of the General Tire 200. The ARCA Menards Series (AMS) event sent Rev Racing and Team Chevy Drivers, Nick Sanchez and Rajah Caruth home with a lot to celebrate.
The race ended nine laps early so Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race could start on time, as teams were informed that the next caution flag would complete the race. Sanchez got aggressive with a three-wide move just before the final caution. He was able to slip through Cory Heim and Bret Holmes to take the lead right before the caution flag waved, declaring the No. 2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet the race winner.
“They told me the last caution was going to end it, so I got aggressive and positioned myself for the best outcome,” Sanchez said. “I could not be more proud of the Team and the car we prepared for this weekend’s event. As a team, we have a lot of momentum right now. We need to keep pushing and hopefully find ourselves in victory lane multiple times throughout the season.”
This win marked the second AMS victory for Rev Racing, the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Development Program and owner, Max Siegel. Sanchez earned his first victory, last year, in a green-white-checkered finish at Kansas Speedway. Sanchez is the only repeat winner in the AMS other than Cory Heim and Ty Gibbs since September of 2020. Sanchez moved to third in the AMS standings, four points behind Rev Racing teammate and current championship leader Rajah Caruth.
Caruth, driver of the No. 6 Max Siegel Chevrolet, also did not disappoint as the laps unfolded at the second Superspeedway event of the season. With 19 laps left in the race, Caruth capitalized on a push from Daniel Dye, finding himself at the front of the field, leading the first six laps of his AMS rookie season. Caruth ultimately ended the race in sixth place, but left Talladega as the new AMS points leader. He leads the charge by one point, with Daniel Dye following. Caruth also earned the Reese’s Sweet Move of the Race at Talladega and the Bounty Rookie Challenge Race Award.
Caruth will return to action this Saturday (4.29) in the General Tire 125 at Dover Motor Speedway, in the third ARCA Menards Series East race event of the season. Caruth will play double duty this weekend as he will also participate in the NASCAR Xfinity Series A-Game 200.
Both drivers will head to Kansas Speedway for the next ARCA Menards Series scheduled race on May 14th for the Dutch Boy 150. The race will be shown live on FS1. A radio broadcast of the race can be heard on MRN / SiriusXM (XM channel 391, online channel 981) / ARCARacing.com.
