Concord, NC — NASCAR Drive for Diversity drivers Nick Sanchez (No. 2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet SS) and Rajah Caruth (No. 6 NTI/UTI Chevrolet SS) will compete in the last 2 races of the 2021 ARCA Menards Series season together.

Sanchez is currently enjoying a solid rookie year in the ARCA Menards Series, scoring 8 Top 5’s and 12 Top 10’s in 16 races. Sanchez is also on the cusp of a Top-3 finish in the season points standings, just one point behind Thad Moffitt for third-place. In addition, the Miami-born driver has challenged championship contenders Ty Gibbs and Corey Heim all year for victory, but has yet to find victory lane this season going into Salem.

“We know we have the speed,” Sanchez commented. “But, in order to beat those guys, we have to be firing on all cylinders. Luckily, Salem is another short track for us, and it reminds me a lot of Winchester—a track in which we ran P3-P2 at times. Knowing this, we have a solid game plan heading into the weekend. We know what we have to do to win.”

Joining Sanchez at Salem this weekend is his teammate Rajah Caruth. Caruth, who finished P3 in the ARCA Menards Series East points standings this season a couple weeks ago, views Salem as another learning opportunity.

“I have never raced at Salem, but I have raced at tracks like Nashville Fairgrounds and Southern National Motorsports Park—all technical short tracks that we performed well at as a team,” Caruth mentioned. “While winning the race would be fantastic, my main goal is to run all the laps and push the limits of my equipment.”

However, what excites Caruth the most about racing alongside Sanchez is racing in the ARCA Menards Series championship race at Kansas in October, and the ARCA Menards Series West championship race at Phoenix in November.

“Kansas will be my first-ever 1.5-mile track I’ve driven on outside of a simulator. Having that practice time will absolutely be beneficial to me and my growth as a driver since I’ll be racing there both in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and in ARCA next year. The same goes for Phoenix. I’m just really excited for these upcoming races, honestly.”

On Saturday, October 2nd, Nick Sanchez, Rajah Caruth, and Rev Racing will return to the midwest to race in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 presented by Scott County Tourism at Salem Speedway. The race will air on MAVTV, and TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold starting at 8:00 p.m. ET. A radio broadcast will be available on ARCARacing.com.

Concord, NC — NASCAR Drive for Diversity driver Rajah Caruth, driver of the No. 6 Sunoco/iRacing Chevrolet Late Model, will attempt to qualify for the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville—the biggest Late Model race in the country.

The iRacer-turned-pro is enjoying a break-out season both in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series and in the ARCA Menards Series East. Racing Late Models, Caruth has three wins on the year, including back-to-back wins at Hickory Motor Speedway in the same night, and a win at Tri-County Motor Speedway. In the ARCA Menards Series East, Caruth notched 2 Top 5’s and 5 Top 10’s. More impressive for the young rookie was the fact that going into the last race of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway, Caruth was 6th in points. But, after a career-best showing at “The Last Great Colosseum,” Caruth was able to jump from 6th-place to 3rd-place in the season standings after a 6th-place finish in the race.

“We came home 6th after a really strong day,” stated Caruth. “We definitely had speed all day. I think we came out of the race showing a lot of people what I and this team are made of.”

Looking back on his first ARCA season as a whole, Caruth is happy with how it turned out.

“I’m ecstatic about the fact that we came out 3rd in points, and 2nd in the owner’s championship. Before Bristol, I was honestly thinking that we were going to end the season 6th or 5th in points, and that we would just go onto focusing on next year. So, to end up 3rd on the season is awesome, and a big win for this team.”

As for the Martinsville race, Caruth is focused on three things:

“Learn all that I can, run all the laps, and keep the fenders on the car. I’ll definitely be leaning on my team for guidance and using their experience to assist me in not only making the race, but running well my first time here.”

“We are really looking forward to running the 300 with Rajah,” Matt Bucher, Director of Competition at Rev Racing, remarked. “With his recent announcement that he will be running part-time in the Xfinity Series in 2022, we wanted to arm him with as much seat time as possible, and to take advantage of the opportunity to run against the best competition in the entirety of Late Model racing.”

After this race, Caruth will return to ARCA to race in the ARCA Menards Series at Salem and the Elite Series Championship race at Kansas, alongside teammate Nick Sanchez. Then, Caruth will finish off the year racing in the ARCA Menards Series West race at Phoenix in November.

Rajah Caruth and Rev Racing will head to Martinsville for the ValleyStar Credit Union 300. Practice starts on Friday at 2:00 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying at 8:00 p.m. ET. On Saturday, heat races will begin at 3 p.m. ET. Pre-race festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. ET with the 200-lap feature starting at 7 p.m. ET. The race will broadcast on TrackPass starting at 7:00 p.m. ET, with MRN handling radio coverage.

Concord, NC
– NASCAR Drive for Diversity Development drivers Nick Sanchez, driver of the No. 2 NTI/UTI Chevrolet, and Rajah Caruth, driver of the No. 6 Sunoco Chevrolet, head to Bristol Motor Speedway for their third race together of the year.

For Sanchez, this will be his first race back in the ARCA Menards Series since racing in the Sprecher 150 at the Milwaukee Mile on August 24. In that race, Sanchez came home with a 12th-place finish—much to the dislike of both Sanchez and the team.

“We were struggling to get the setup down,” according to Sanchez. “We were tight the entire race, but this team never gave up. They really did all they could to assist in giving the car some speed. Wish we could have finished better, but you take every race as a learning experience, and move on to the next one.”

Milwaukee was also the last ARCA start for Caruth, who finished 13th.

“Similar to Nick, we had some trouble all day as well. But, Nick and I had a lot of time to work together on the track, so it wasn’t all bad. That on-track chemistry is something you can only really develop on race day. We did all that we could to make the most of the race.”

The Bush’s Beans 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway might be the last race of the ARCA Menards Series East season, but it is not the last race of the season for either Sanchez or Caruth this year. With that being said, Caruth had some thoughts on his rookie season.

“There were definitely some ups and downs, but I know I’ve improved compared to the beginning of the season,” Caruth remarked. “I made some ‘rookie mistakes’ early on, like pitting when I didn’t need to and racing the car too hard, but thanks to the support of Max Siegel and Rev Racing, I feel like I came out of this season a better driver than ever before. The goal for me now is to finish my ARCA Menards Series East season out on a strong note, whether it be a Top-5, or getting Max Siegel his first ever ARCA Menards Series East win.”

As for Sanchez, he has 2 more races in his rookie ARCA Menards Series season after Bristol: The Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 at Salem Speedway, and the Reese’s 200 at Kansas Speedway.

Nevertheless, Sanchez is approaching every race like it is his last.

“I’ve said this countless times before, but I just want to win. A championship might not be the focus for us anymore, but getting a win is. I want to end this season on a high note, and bring this team to victory lane.”

Nick Sanchez, Rajah Caruth, and Rev Racing head to Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday, August 16th, to race in the Bush’s Beans 200. The race counts as an ARCA Menards Series race, an ARCA Menards Series East race, and a Sioux Chief Showdown race. The race will be broadcast live on FS1 starting at 6:30ET with a live stream available on the Fox Sports App. MRN and SiriusXM (XM channel 391, online channel 981) will also provide live radio coverage of the race.

Concord, NC – NASCAR Drive for Diversity development driver Lavar Scott scored his first ever Late Model win this weekend at Hickory Motor Speedway.

A historic weekend for the young 18-year-old from Carney’s Point, N.J., Scott had an extremely fast car all night. The team ran P3 in practice, and qualified P2 for the first of two feature races. Scott wasted no time getting to the front, even lapping cars in the process. By the time the checkered flag waved, he had amassed a 2-second lead over second place.

“I am so thankful for this team,” said Scott. “This team has some good people behind it, and they have believed in me since day 1. Thank you to Max Siegel and the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program as well as my race sponsors NASCAR Technical Institute and Vizionary Wealth Management. It feels so good to finally get my first Late Model win.”

Scott participated in the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Youth Driver Development Combine in 2019. Evaluators saw potential in his abilities and tested with Scott throughout the 2019 season. He was also invited to the 2019 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Stock Car Combine in October, and was offered a seat in a U.S. Legend Car with Rev Racing in their Youth Driver Development Program during the 2020 season. The team continued to test his abilities in a Late Model throughout 2020, which ultimately earned him an opportunity for a rookie season in the weekly touring series with a full contract with Rev Racing in 2021.

This weekend did not mark the first ever NASCAR-sanctioned win for Scott, as he competed in the NASCAR FB y Bhon Mikel’s Trucks Series, a subseries of the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, this summer. He recorded a win at Autódromo del Ecocentro de la Unión Ganadera in Mexico driving for Dynamic Motorsports.

Scott nearly won two races in the same day at the birthplace of NASCAR stars, but came up less than a car-length short in the second feature race. His teammate, fellow NASCAR FB y Bhon Mikel’s Trucks Series winner Regina Sirvent, also raced in both feature races. Sirvent had a fantastic weekend herself, scoring back-to-back Top-3 finishes. Sirvent and Scott thoroughly enjoyed racing with each other, and both learned a lot coming out of the race weekend.

“We are extremely proud of Lavar and have really seen a tremendous amount of talent and progress over the last two years,” said Max Siegel, owner of Rev Racing. “We are eager to see continued growth and results from Lavar as the season comes to a close.”

Rev Racing announced recently that Scott would be returning to the team for the 2022 season in their Late Model Program, so odds are that the first win of his career will not be his only one.
