CHARLOTTE, NC – The UPMC Health Plan 150 at Smithon, PA’s Motordrome Speedway brought red flags and restarts, and ended ultimately with two top-10s and a top-15 for Rev Racing.
Driver of the #4 L&M Consulting Toyota, Kenzie Ruston, was one of the Rev drivers that took tremendous strides throughout the race. With a p16 qualifying start, Ruston was able to break through the pack to land in her the top-10 by the end of the race. By lap 92, Ruston found a stronghold on the top-15 continuing to advance throughout the race. However, an hour and a half long red took all drivers by surprise and put a pause on the UPMC Health Plan 150 for track repair. In p11 on restart, Ruston quickly darted through the pack securing her place in top-10. With laps winding down, Ruston was still able to gain traction, and found herself in p6 at the checkered flag.
A familiar face to the Rev Racing team, Sergio Peña joined Rev again Saturday night to man the #42 Special Smiles Toyota. During the race, Peña found himself throughout the pack. Qualifying p10, Peña made a quick leap into p6 within the first ten laps, but a flat tire near lap 30 brought Peña in for a quick pit, having him return to the race at p20, 13 laps behind his original lead. Peña spent the next 120 laps regaining his top-10 spot as he steadily moved forward throughout the remainder of the race. Peña took the checkered at p10, a second top-10 for Rev that night.
Devon Amos, driver of the #66 Max Siegel, Inc. Toyota, also found himself within the top-10 for multiple laps during the race. Qualifying p11, Amos darted in and out of the top-10 and made it to p9 on lap 50. With on and off restarts, and the delay from the red, Amos lost his grip on the top-10, but remained vigilant and secured a top-15 spot at p13.
#2 Universal Technical Institute Toyota driver Collin Cabre ran a steady race, and found himself within the top-10 early on in p9 after qualifying p15. Car difficulties put Cabre into pit lane during the red, unfortunately causing a loss in momentum and placing him at the back of the pack. Cabre was able to regain position as much as he could on restart, and finished the race in p17.
Rev Racing heads back to the track on Saturday, August 29th for the Biscutville 150 at VIRginia International Speedway.
Concord, NC. (August 14, 2015) –Rev Racing has been busy preparing for this weekend’s race at the MotorDrome in Smithtown, PA for several weeks. As an added location to the K&N Pro Series East (KNPSE) season roster, the drivers are doing all they can to prepare for the track. From the iRacing simulators to the instruction of their crew chiefs, Rev Racing drivers are ready to take on this fast, rough track with a vengeance. Rev drivers will meet the challenge of the .4 mile asphalt, semi-banked tracked, this Saturday, August 15th at 9:00pm local.
Leading the point series for Rev Racing, the No. 42 Special Smiles vehicle will be piloted this week by Rev Racing Alumni, Sergio Peña. Due to health-related issues, driver Jay Beasley will look to his former teammate to keep the car in the running for a top-10 in points.
Sergio Peña(No. 42 Special Smiles Toyota) is a proven competitor in the KNPSE and a previous team member of Rev Racing. All four of Peña’s K&N wins have been under the direction of Rev Racing. This particular track will be right in Peña’s comfort zone, as he excels in a fast-paced, aggressive race.
“First and foremost, I am looking for Jay to have a quick and full recovery. My thoughts are with him and hope to see him in a car again very soon,” said Peña. “With that being said, I am excited for the opportunity to drive with Rev Racing and the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program again. I can’t wait to get back to work with the team and show everyone what we can do!”
Kenzie Ruston (No. 4 Rev Racing Toyota) Ruston is currently sitting in 11th position in the point standings. Ruston and Crew Chief Mark Green have found the formula for consistency, with regard to Ruston’s car set-up. She is looking for a good finish at the MotorDrome on Saturday and upward movement in the standings.
Devon Amos (No. 6 MSI Toyota) and Collin Cabre (No. 2 UTI/NTI Toyota) will both be competing at the MotorDrome for the first time in their NASCAR K&N Pro Series East careers. Both drivers are continuing to gain confidence and experience on the track, making them definite contenders for this race.
CHARLOTTE, NC – Friday night’s Thanks Kenny 150 at Iowa Speedway was the second stop in Iowa this season for Rev Racing. The 150-lap race proved to be tough for many, but Rev Racing drivers Collin Cabre and Jay Beasley proved otherwise.
#2 Universal Technical Institute Toyota driver Collin Cabre found himself in the perfect position for a potential top-10 after qualifying in 12th position. Remaining in the top-15 throughout the race, Cabre took his opportunity with only ten laps to go, maneuvering into P10. A caution on lap 140 stalled his advancement momentarily, until a restart with three laps left allowed him to work his way to P9 and ultimately take the checkered flag in the top-10.
After collecting top-10 finishes in the Whelen All-American Series, this is Cabre’s first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East top-10. “I feel great about tonight’s top-10,” Cabre said while thanking his crew and team after the race, “…my Toyota was fast tonight.” The P9 finish was the highest finishing position for Rev Racing in the Thanks Kenny.
Teammate Jay Beasley, driver of the #42 Special Smiles Toyota, also made tremendous strides throughout the race. Qualifying P31, Beasley was able to garner an 11-position gain by lap 50, placing him P20. 100 laps later, Beasley took the checkered flag in the top-15 at P12, an incredible 19-position gain from his qualifying start.
Fellow Rev Racing drivers, Devon Amos and Kenzie Ruston faced technical difficulties late in the race, ultimately not allowing them to finish. Amos, driver of the #66 Max Siegel Inc. Toyota took P31 after car trouble removed him from the race with ten laps to go. Qualifying P18, Amos had been in the top-15 for the majority of the race and was P17 at the time of the incident.
An earlier lap 125 caution removed Ruston, driver of the #4 L&M Consulting Toyota, from the race with 25 laps to go, finishing P34 as a result. Ruston had also been in and out of the top-15 during the race, advancing from her P19 qualifying start.
The Thanks Kenny 150 airs tonight at 7pm EST and will re-air on Saturday, August 8th at 8pm EST on NBCSN. The team heads back to the track this Friday, August 7th for the Bully Hill Vineyards 125 at Watkins Glen International.
Charlotte, NC, – Aspiring drivers have one month left to apply for the 2015 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Combine. Young drivers of ethnically diverse backgrounds and females must submit their online application by September 4th in order to be considered for the 12th Annual NASCAR Drive for Diversity (D4D) Combine, Oct. 19-21 at Langley Speedway in Hampton, VA. A select number of applicants will have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the 2016 NASCAR D4D class in partnership with Rev Racing.
Each year the NASCAR Drive for Diversity initiative and its competition arm, Rev Racing, seek to obtain the highest quality of applicants representing diverse backgrounds and develop them into successful NASCAR drivers. Combine participants will be evaluated on their driving skills and will also be tested on a series of strength and agility exercises at Hampton University.
“We are very excited to see the applicant pool this year,” said Max Siegel, owner of Rev Racing. “The talent level continues to increase every year. We have had great success with this program and we will continue to train and place as many drivers as possible into the national series.”
The NASCAR D4D Combine – being held at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia, for the fifth consecutive year – has been the proving ground for several current NASCAR national series drivers, including NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Larson, and NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers Darrell Wallace Jr. and Daniel Suarez.

This year, Austin Geer returned to Rev Racing for his second season. After joining the team last summer, Geer earned 30 top-5s out of his 40 races. He’s continuing to prove himself this season as well, as he is currently third in the points in this year’s Bojangles Summer Shootout. The Rev Racing Team recently sat down with Geer and his father Charles, to talk about the season.
How do you think your season has gone so far?
AG It’s been pretty good…I’m third in the points now and got four top-5s.
How have you improved from last year?
AG Probably just having a consistent line. Really working on that and working on simulators- really practicing a lot more.
CG His passing is some of the best I’ve ever seen. He can really get by kids. He avoids crashes better than anyone I’ve ever seen. I mean, I can miss something in front of him.
What do you think you need to improve on the most?
AG I just need to work on staying consistent, just not messing up a lot.
Do you have a specific routine before racing?
AG I just go out there, pray, and hope for the best.
Do you have a favorite track to race on?
AG I really like Charlotte, and I also like Atlanta.
Your dad is usually always with you at the track. How big of an influence does he have on you, as far as racing is concerned?
AG He’s a pretty big influence; he got me into racing. He used to race cup cars on road course, but looked into oval ones and it was a great idea for me.
Where do you see yourself going in this sport?
AG My ultimate dream is to race in the Sprint Cup Series. That’s my main goal. If that doesn’t work out, I’m thinking of becoming a mechanical engineer or working at a shop.
CG We want him to go to college as parents. If he keeps doing well, he’ll progress. Even if he doesn’t go to a place where he’ll be on a campus., we’ll have him taking online classes. He’s going to get his degree. That’s what we do in our family.
Concord, NC (July 29th, 2015) – It was a hot and fiery Saturday in Hampton, Virginia this past weekend. Rev Racing took to the track for 200 laps in the Hampton Heat.
Collin Cabre came to the track with all intentions of a top-10 and that’s exactly what he did. His focus and determination moved him nine spots from his 16th place qualifying position. Cabre raced steady at his qualifying position for the first 100 laps. After a few adjustments at the break before the next 100 laps, Cabre went right back out there and made major gains for track position. After a caution at lap 138, he found himself just inside the top-10 in 9th position. However, that wasn’t enough. Sixty-two laps later at the checkered flag, Cabre found himself in a seventh place position.
Cabre’s teammate, Natalie Decker, didn’t finish the race due to an accident involving her and the number 90 car at lap 48. Decker was definitely making big moves on the track before the crash, moving six positions from her 21st qualifying point.

Concord, NC. (July 22nd, 2015) – It was a quiet race weekend at the United Service 70 in Loudon, New Hampshire. Rev drivers made major strides throughout the race, but car trouble left most of our drivers out of top positions.
Kenzie Ruston moved up five positions from her original qualifying spot. Starting 21st she ended up just outside of the top-15, at 16th. Teammate Devon Amos managed to maintain his 18th place qualifying position from start to finish.
Due to technical difficulties on the track, Collin Cabre and Jay Beasley didn’t end the race the way they would have liked. Beasley experienced some slight car trouble taking him to pit road several times. Cabre ran a pretty smooth race until his car battery died on him, making him finish two positions behind where he qualified.

On Saturday, July 25, NASCAR Diversity, Max Siegel Inc., and Rev Racing, in conjunction with the Indianapolis Urban League, will be coming to Indianapolis on their nationwide 2015 Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Challenge Tour and Expo.
The Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Challenge Tour is an initiative of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Development Program, a comprehensive training program for aspiring minority and female pit crew members. The program focuses on instilling the fundamentals, discipline and confidence required to be a top athlete on a NASCAR pit crew, and includes weekly hands-on, over-the-wall position training and coaching for tire changers, tire carriers, fuelers and jackmen, as well as weight training, agility and footwork programs. The Pit Crew Challenge Tour seeks diverse male and female athletes from across the nation who may not be progressing on into the world of professional sports or students that have an overall passion for racing.
The tour will allow eligible minority and female participants to showcase their athleticism, speed and agility in a variety of combine challenges. Top participants at each stop will be invited to compete against other participants in the NASCAR D4D Showdown, located at the famous Charlotte Motor Speedway, on October 9, 2015. Selected candidates will also receive an opportunity to continue training as a part of the NASCAR Crew Member Development Program, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The July 25 stop in Indianapolis will also include an invitation-only breakfast for select community influencers to learn more about the Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Development Program and what NASCAR has to offer the youth of the Indianapolis community. Concord, NC. (July 14th, 2015) – It was a rainy, dreary day in Hampton, Virginia this past weekend. However, that didn’t stop Collin Cabre from finishing with a top-5 at Langley Speedway.
Despite the various rain delays, Cabre stayed focused and ran a smooth race all the way through. His determination and focus moved him four spots up from his 12th place qualifying position in the first race. Finishing with a top-10 just wasn’t enough. Starting at 8th place in the second race, Cabre found himself fighting between seventh and eighth. After a caution flag around the 50th lap, Cabre advanced to sixth position, and held on to it strongly. At lap 63, only two laps before the checkered flag, Cabre passed the number 90 car for the fifth place spot.
Cabre’s teammate, Natalie Decker, also finished higher than her starting point in the first race. Decker finished 13th in the first race after starting in the 14th position. Decker held the 13th position for most of the second race. Decker spun out from a bump to the rear of her car, causing the first and only caution of the race. Even with the minor set back she didn’t relinquish her 13th place spot, finishing inside the top-15 for both races.

Concord, NC. (July 7th, 2015) – Rev Racing brought the fireworks to Columbus Motor Speedway with two top-10 finishes this past weekend. Jay Beasley finished with his third top-5 of the season, and teammate Kenzie Ruston wasn’t far behind with a top-10 finish.
Beasley ran a smooth race even through multiple caution flags. He stayed focused and continued driving up through the ranks from his 15th place qualifying position. Not quite as easy as he would’ve hoped, Beasley found himself fighting between the 10th and 11th spot for most of the race, as cars were racing around each turn. Eventually Beasley found himself in 4th position just in time for the checkered flag.
Ruston was the first to qualify with her best lap at 14.553 seconds, starting her off in 18th place. Ruston managed to move up eight spots for a 10th place finish in the 150-lap race.
Collin Cabre and Devon Amos both finished higher than their qualifiying positions. Cabre finished 13th after starting in the 16th position, while Amos finished 12th, after starting in 14th place. Amos caused the first caution of the race after spinning out from a hit to the rear of his car. However, he picked up the pace and finished with Cabre inside the top-15.

Concord, NC (June 29, 2015) – Rev Racing returns to the track in Columbus this Fourth of July, with a whole different kind of fireworks. Crew Chief John Wolf returned with a victory in Columbus last year with former Rev Racing driver Sergio Peña. His exceptional knowledge of the track from last year definitely gives his driver, Devon Amos, along with the rest of the Rev Racing team some edge over the competition.
All eyes will be on Jay Beasley after an impressive top-5 finish at Bowman Gray and again last week at Langley.
“I’m excited,” Beasley said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. I feel that if we can qualify in the top-5 we’ll be right there going for the win, or at the very least a top-3 finish. “
Beasley’s Crew Chief, Skip Eyler, won in Columbus two years ago, and also feels confident in keeping the victories going.
“I’m very excited going back to Columbus. Rev has a very good track record there,” Eyler said. “The most important thing to do is to capitalize on the momentum of the 42 car. We just have to go up there with a positive outlook and try to bring home another victory for Rev.”
Kenzie Ruston (No. 4 Toyota) – This won’t be Ruston’s first time at the Columbus Motor Speedway. Last year, she participated in the JEGS 150 in Columbus. Unfortunately, a late-in-the-race misfortune at the end of a lead lap just before the final restart, took Ruston’s chance at a checkered flag. However, having ran the track before, Ruston and Rev a definite advantage for the race.
Devon Amos (No. 6 Toyota)– Amos held the 14th spot last week at Langley. After finishing the Hall of Fame 150 in 6th, he hopes to bring some of that momentum into the NAPA 150. This is the first time Amos takes on the Columbus track. He hopes to brings home a strong finish for Rev.
Collin Cabre (No. 2 Toyota) – Cabre also hopes to ignite some fireworks of his own with a higher finish in the NAPA 150. Cabre races his Late Model car at Hickory this weekend, aiding him in his preparation for Columbus on the Fourth. This will be his first race at Columbus Motor Speedway.
Two-lap qualifying begins at 6:00 p.m. followed by the driver autograph session at 8:00 p.m. The NAPA 150 race begins at 8:45 pm EST.

Jay Beasley’s Top-5 performance this past weekend didn’t come as a surprise to the Rev Racing veteran, nor his crew. Prior to the Bowman Gray race, Beasley and his crew chief decided to change his car set-up to one that had proven successful at Bowman Gray, Langley, and Columbus in past years. Therefore, with proven set-up, all Beasley would have to do is use his driving acumen to deliver a top-5 worthy performance; and he did just that.
Beasley’s time at Langley Speedway was a little up and down. With the opportunity to test the day prior to the race, he and his crew chief decided to experiment a little with the hopes of gaining a few tenths. As a result, Beasley spent nearly the entire five-hour practice in the seat, with both positive and negative results.
Unfortunately, the positive results didn’t immediately translate come race day. During first practice Beasley barely secured the 15th fastest time. However, with a little more tinkering Beasley was able to reel off the sixth fastest time by the conclusion of second practice. Shortly afterwards, Beasley qualified 12th for the race. His qualifying effort wasn’t as favorable as he would have like, however the Las Vegas native remained unfazed. Ultimately verified during the race, Beasley’s qualifying effort was not a foreshowing of the race, yet a mere sign that it was going to take more than 2 laps for him to find his groove.
Sure enough, after Beasley took the green flag he slowly but surely made his way through the pack over the course of the 175-lap race. He listened to his spotter, utilized straight-aways, and capitalized on opponent’s mistakes until he improved enough to take the checkered in fifth.
One of the most daunting aspects of the race was not a single performance, but the effects of the field going nearly 70-80 laps without a caution. At one point during the race, it was nearly impossible to determine placing as only 10 out of 24 cars competing were on the lead lap. Finally a caution with 30 or so laps to go allowed everyone to regroup. But the laps leading up to that were definitely a spectacle rarely seen in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
Beasley’s teammates had a solid night as well as they all managed to finish inside of the top-15. Kenzie Ruston, Devon Amos, and Collin Cabre finished the Visit Hampton VA 175 in 12th, 14th and 15th, respectively.
Concord, NC (June 17, 2015) – Fresh off the Madhouse, Rev Racing returns to the track this Saturday, June 20 at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia. For Competition Director Jefferson Hodges, Langley Speedway is a homecoming. Therefore, his knowledge of the track should give the Rev Racing drivers a slight advantage over the competition. Leading the way for Rev Racing will be newcomer Collin Cabre.
Cabre was able to gain some seat time at the Langley track this past weekend, as he competed in his Late Model. After finishing 10th in the first round and 9th in the second, he feels good about heading back this coming weekend for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race.
“It should go well. It always helps racing somewhere for the second time. When you go back you feel more comfortable there.” Cabre said. “I like Langley, it’s one of my better tracks that I race at.”
Teammate Jay Beasley had an impressive race last season at Langley and feels like he can bring home some impressive results for the team this weekend.
“I ran really well there last year, so that gives me more confidence to do better this year,” Beasley said. “We have a good chance of getting another top 5. I heard the track has changed a little bit, so that will put everyone on the same playing field as to figuring it out.“
Kenzie Ruston and Devon Amos both finished inside of the top-10 last race which called for a solid race for Rev. Two-lap qualifying begins at 4:30 pm, followed by the on-track autograph session at 5:30 p.m. The race begins at 9:00 pm EST.

NASCAR is bringing more than just action-packed truck racing on Friday, it’s also offering an opportunity to promising, multicultural athletes to test their skills at becoming a pit crew member for a professional race team. The 2015 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Challenge Tour will be at Texas Motor Speedway this Friday and Saturday, and is seeking talented minority and female competitors, ages 18-26, to try out for the industry’s premier pit crew development program.
While the success of NASCAR Drive for Diversity (D4D) has focused on its drivers – in particular, Kyle Larson, Darrell Wallace Jr. and Daniel Suarez – it is the pit crew members who are also demonstrating the program’s growth since inception. D4D graduates Raphael Diaz, Kevin Richardson and Mike Russell have already visited Victory Lane more than once this season across NASCAR’s three national series.
The NASCAR D4D Crew Member Development Program is run by Rev Racing, and hosts free open tryouts – or combines – several times throughout the year and hosted by motorsports coach Phil Horton. Concord, NC (June 1, 2015) – In what turned out to be an uncharacteristically tame night at the Mad House, Rev Racing was able to finish with 3 top-10’s and 1 top-5.
Jay Beasley set the pace for his teammates by securing a fourth place finish and bringing home his first top-5 of the 2015 season. After stellar qualifying effort for the second year in a row, Beasley took the green flag in seventh place. However, much to the dismay of race fans who only come to Bowman Gray to see a dog fight, there was very little action from that point forward. There weren’t any wrecks on restarts, on the rare occasion there was one, and the physical racing was kept to a minimum. Therefore, Beasley’s ability to take advantage of a few mistakes made by his competitors ultimate allowed him to coast to a top-5.
“Feel like we had a really good car, and we need a little bit more to win the race. However, going into Langley I really feel that we can win. I’m not going to be happy unless we’re in the thick of it at the end. From here on out, we’re going to be really fast so I’m not going to be content until we win”
Not too far behind Beasley was his teammates Devon Amos who finished the Hall of Fame 150 in 6th place. Unlike his teammate, Amos, who qualified in 10th had a few obstacles to overcome on the way to his first top-10 of the season. At one point in the race, Amos had fallen as far back as 13th. However, after avoiding a pile-up mid-way through the race which sent four drivers ahead of him to the back of the pack, he was able to return to the top-10.
The third Rev Racing member to place inside of the Top-10 was Kenzie Ruston. Ruston finished ninth after qualifying 11th. Rev Racing’s leading lady had a solid night on the track, and though she had to fend off a few defenders, she was ultimately able to coast through the race
Last, but not least, Collin Cabre finished the race in 17th place, respectively.

Concord NC (May 29, 2015) – All of the tactics and strategies used at the tracks leading up to this weekend’s outing at Bowman Gray will go out the window. Bowman Gray isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s nicknamed the Mad House for a reason. When drivers enter the Mad House, they race by a different set of rules. The .25-mile paved flat oval is the NASCAR equivalent to stepping inside of a gladiator ring. It’s a fight to the finish in which there are, metaphorically, many casualties. There is only one strategy when racing at Bowman Gray: stay in the front of the pack or survive the clutter in the middle long enough to make it there. Ultimately, while fans come to cheer their favorite drivers to victory, the middle of the pack is what they really come to see. The bumping, the banging, the sliding, the crashing, the cautions, and the controversy are what make the NASCAR Hall of Fame 150 so appealing. The dropping of the green flag is essentially the commencement of a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. And similar to past year, there is little doubt that sparks will fly this coming Saturday.
Leading the way at the Mad House will be none other than Jay Beasley and Kenzie Ruston. Last Season, Jay Beasley (No. 42 Special Smiles Toyota) had the best qualifying effort of the entire Rev Racing team. He was the only member to qualify within the Top-10 and was fortunately able to utilize his qualifying position to secure a 9th place finish.
Similar to her teammate, Kenzie Ruston (No. 4 Rev Racing Toyota) was also able to secure a top-10 finish last year at the Mad House as a member of Ben Kennedy Racing. Ruston and Crew Chief Mark Green have found the formula for consistency with regard to Ruston’s car set-up. The next step for these two will be to use said consistency to replicate last year’s top-10 effort to help bolster the statistic sheet for Rev Racing.
Devon Amos (No. 6 MSI Toyota) and Collin Cabre (No. 2 UTI/NTI Toyota) will both be competing at the Made House for the first time in their young NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Careers. However, as both drivers accumulate more races under their belt, their confidence has grown tremendously since the inaugural race at New Smyrna. Amos is confident that had it not been for an unavoidable accident at Iowa, he was on par for the first top-10 finish of his career. Consequently, Amos enters this weekend’s race with a chip on his shoulder as he felt he was robbed. Fortunately for him, a chip on one’s shoulder is exactly what is needed to survive 150 laps at the Mad House!

Concord, NC (May 18, 2015) – Rev Racing’s K&N drivers took on Iowa Speedway this past weekend for the Casey’s General Store 150, a nearly 132 mile race on “the fastest short track on the planet.”
After a difficult bout on April 21 in Bristol, the Rev Racing team returned to the track motivated. For a track known for its difficulty to pass, Rev Racing defied the odds and made strides toward a top-10 finish.
Devon Amos, driving the #66 Max Siegel Inc. Toyota, had a solid practice, placing him in the top-15 qualifying positions after final practice. With a few adjustments, Amos was the first to take to the track for qualifying and ultimately secured P18. After the green flag, Amos spent the majority of the race pushing through to the top-15. With ten laps to go, Amos found himself leading the Rev team with a stronghold on P12 ready to break the top-10 by the end of the race. Unfortunately, an interaction between the #7 and the #98 spun #98 in front of Amos, damaging his front body beyond repair and sending him out of the race with only 8 laps to go. Amos finished P25, despite the incident.
Manning the #2 UTI/NTI Toyota, Collin Cabre qualified P31, after finding himself in the in P30 and above positions during practice. However, the placement didn’t deter Cabre as he steadily moved up throughout the race, eventually finding himself in P22 for the checkered flag, a nine-position advancement.
Kenzie Ruston, behind the wheel of the #4 L&M Toyota, wasted little time turning her P22 spot into a position in the top-20. Within 20 laps, Ruston made her way to P19 and placed herself well to continue passing throughout the race. However, a blown left rear tire set Ruston back mid-race as she rushed into pit. Returning P34, Ruston worked her way forward once more and eventually finished nine positions ahead, at P25.
#42 Special Smiles Pediatric Dentistry Toyota driver Jay Beasley also made an outstanding drive, advancing 11 positions before the checkered flag. Qualifying P22, Beasley was one of the brave drivers to ride the top of the track and consistently move up throughout the race. Edging alongside #66 Devon Amos for a period of time, battling between P17 and P18, Beasley eventually rode through the pack and found himself P14 with 30 laps to go. After multiple cautions in the last 30 laps, Beasley used the restart to his advantage and finished P12.
The team continues their K&N Pro Series East season Saturday, May 30 at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC for the NASCAR Hall of Fame 150.

Concord, NC (May 12, 2015) – Despite a larger than usual car count due to additional competitors from the NASCAR Pro Series West, Iowa Speedway has traditionally been a track where drivers under the tutelage of Director of Competition Jefferson Hodges have experienced much success. In the two showings at Iowa Speedway last season, the Rev Racing teams accumulated two top-5s and three top-10s in addition to two 11th place finishes. Most notably, the first race at Iowa Speedway marked Jay Beasley’s breakout performance of the 2014 season. After qualifying 9th, Beasley went on the finish the race in 4th and secure his first career top-5. His dominance in the Casey’s General Store 150 ended up being the catalyst for a dominant streak that saw the likes of three more top-10s over the next four races When asked what about Iowa Speedway jump-started Beasley’s season, he responded, “I really like the speed of the track. It’s one of the tracks I feel really comfortable at. Nothing was wrong with my cars leading up to Iowa last year. It just took a while to figure out the right set up. After trying some things we found that formula at Iowa and the results showed. And we continued with that formula and the results continued to show. This year Skip has been working really hard and trying a few new things to make sure I’m as comfortable as possible in the car so I’m confident that we’ll have another good race this year. “ Beasley’s teammate Kenzie Ruston will also be focused on replicating last year’s success at Iowa Speedway. Mechanical issues derailed what was panning out to be a top-10 performance in her first outing. However, she bounced back magnificently in her second outing. Ruston not only drove her way to a 2nd place finish, but she also drove her way into the record books as the highest finishing female in NASCAR K&N Pro Series history. Ruston and Crew Chief Mark Green have already garnered one top-10 this season. If the two of them can find the same formula that was used in Ruston’s second outing at Iowa in 2014, it’s likely that Ruston could be on the brink of another historic performance in 2015. Rounding out the Rev Racing team are newcomers Devon Amos and Collin Cabre who will both be competing at Iowa for the first time in their NKNPSE careers. The larger car count and addition of NKNPSW drivers will provide a unique challenge that each of the rookie drivers has yet to experience. However, each of their Crew Chiefs along with Hodges will make sure that both drivers are well prepared to manage the task at hand. Concord, NC (April 21, 2015) – This past weekend at Bristol proved to be a tough outing for the Rev Racing team. Veteran Jay Beasley was the lone Rev Racing driver to finish the brutal 125 lap race.
He was having a decent race for the first 100 laps, however his night was derailed when he pulled out of line too soon on a restart and got black-flagged. He subsequently had to serve the penalty under green had was sent to the back of the pack.
Tire and mechanical issues seemed to plague Beasley’s teammates. Teammate Cabre blew a front right tire one third of the way through the race. The car experienced slight damage but was very much still drivable. Cabre pitted, the tire was changed, and he rejoined the field. However, 5 laps later the front right surprisingly blew again causing Cabre to hit the wall. This time, the damage to the car was too drastic to return to the race.
Amos was solid for the first 50 laps or so of the race. However, similar to the number 2, Amos blew a front right tire and hit the wall. Ultimately, the damage to his vehicle was too substantial to continue racing.
Ruston was sidelined when toward the beginning of the race when a blown head gasket caused her motor filled up with water. Her crew thought there might have been an issue with the radiator until they pulled the plugs and realized that the head gasket on the left side of the motor was busted.

Concord, NC (April 15, 2015) – In what will be the first companion race of the season, Rev Racing will head to Bristol Motor Speedway in hopes of taming the world’s fastest ½ mile. Last season’s race at Bristol pushed all five Rev Racing teams to their limits. After a tough 125 laps of racing, Jay Beasley was one of only two Rev Racing drivers to finish the race. However, a roster full of new faces gives Rev Racing a fresh start heading into the weekend. And, the lone returnee from last year’s NKNPSE team goes into the race with experience on his side.
Jay Beasley (No. 42 Special Smiles Toyota) – The Las Vegas, Nevada native will be asked to lead his teammates into the PittLite 125 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Beasley has improved drastically from the driver he was entering last year’s event. Beasley entered 2014’s race with hardly any NKNPSE experience and outperformed all of his veteran teammates. However, this year Beasley is the veteran, and hopes to once again lead by example.Kenzie Ruston (No. 4 Rev Racing Toyota) – Although Ruston has raced at Bristol Motor Speedway many times, this weekend will mark the first time she will be competing at Bristol as a member of Rev Racing. Though this track can be intimidating to most, the El Reno, Oklahoma native has a solid grasp of what it takes to perform well at the speedway. Last season, Ruston entered the race with a solid vehicle and was on her way to a top-10 finish before incidental contact derailed her campaign. Nonetheless, Ruston is confident that she will be able to replicate late season’s effort and bring home the top-10 that eluded her last season.
Devon Amos (No. 6 MSI Toyota) – The PittLite 125 will mark the first time the Rio Rancho, New Mexico native has competed at Bristol Motor Speedway. For Amos, it will be key to remain poised and let the race come to him. For a NKNPSE novice, he will need to remain calm and follow the strategy put forth by his crew chief. If Amos can successfully do so, he will like where he stands come the end of the race.
Collin Cabre (No. 2 UTI/NTI Toyota) – Similar to Amos, Cabre is another NKNPSE novice at Bristol. The Rev Racing newcomer has shown that he is fundamentally sound with his racing technique. While his patience and driving led to a decent race last time out at Greenville Pickens, such prowess is crucial at Bristol Motor Speedway; a track that is known for being unkind to undisciplined drivers. If Cabre can build off of his last performance, he should have a solid weekend.
Qualifying for the PittLite 125 begins at 5:00pm on Thursday. The autograph session will take place from 12:15 – 1:00pm on Saturday, followed by the PittLite 125 at 4:30pm EST.
