Sanchez and Caruth rev up for Daytona

Ams Preseason Test 2022: Arca Menards Series Arca Preseason Test January 14

February 19, 2022

Concord, NC — As Rev Racing prepares for the ARCA Menards Series (AMS) season opener at Daytona International Speedway (DIS), they can’t avoid feeling energized by the opportunities that lie ahead. From gaining the support of an OEM partnership with Chevrolet to adding and retaining talented and experienced staff to its roster, Sanchez and Caruth are positioned for what the team hopes is a very successful road ahead. Nick Sanchez and Rajah Caruth will compete on the 2.5-mile tri-oval in the Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire at the DIS this afternoon, February 19.

The Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire will mark the first race of the year for the AMS drivers after Tuesday night's ARCA Menards Series East opener at New Smyrna Speedway. After a lengthy off-season, the drivers are eager to experience this weekend’s superspeedway.

Nick Sanchez (No. 2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet): Nick Sanchez, Rev Racing’s most seasoned driver, is rostered for his fifth consecutive year. Sanchez will compete in his second season as a full-time driver in the AMS. Sanchez finished 3rd in points in his 2021 AMS rookie season. Sanchez garnered his first victory in the AMS at Kansas Speedway in Oct. 2021, earning and overall 9 top 5s and 13 top 10s. Sanchez will also make the leap into the National series, running multiple races with BJ McLeod Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2022.

“I could not be more excited about the upcoming season,” said Sanchez. “We have put a lot of effort and hard work in the off-season in preparation for Daytona and subsequent races. I am going to use last year’s experiences to capitalize on growth opportunities for the No. 2 team this year. Our hope is not only to run well but we’re also looking for multiple trips to victory lane and a potential championship.”

Sanchez will start the Lucas Oil 200 presented by General Tire in 18th position, behind teammate Rajah Caruth who is starting 16th.

Rajah Caruth (No. 6 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet): Rajah Caruth is returning to the Rev Racing roster for his fourth year in a row. Caruth spent his first season with Rev Racing participating in the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Youth Driver Development Program, running in the U.S. Legend Car Series. In his second season, Caruth piloted a full-time ride in the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Touring Series, as well as participating in the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway. After an impressive rookie start in the touring series, earning 10 top 10s, 3 top 5s, and 1 win at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, Caruth earned a full-time ride in the ARCA Menards Series East and a partial schedule in the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Touring Series.

Caruth finished 3rd in the ARCA Menards Series East 2021 point standings with 2 top 5s and five top 10s. He also picked up two wins at Hickory Motor Speedway and one at Tri-County Motor Speedway in the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Touring Series. Caruth also ran five races in the ARCA Menards Series this past season, earning 1 top 5 placement and 4 top 10s. Caruth, like his teammate Sanchez, will also be running multiple races with Alpha Prime Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this upcoming season.

“I am focused on growth this season,” said Caruth. “I am ready to get focused and learn as much as possible in the early stages of 2022 to prepare myself for a successful season as a whole. My crew has prepared a great car for this weekend and I am hoping for a top five finish at Daytona.”

Both drivers participated in a practice session on Feb. 17th, followed by the  General Tire Pole Qualifying yesterday, February 18. The Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire 80-lapper set for today at 1:47 pm ET, at DIS.
