Rev Racing, Perez, and Scott Taking on Talladega
April 18, 2024
Concord, NC- Both Andres Perez de Lara and Lavar Scott are competing in the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway in the ARCA Menards Series (AMS). Andres Perez de Lara will take the wheel of the No.2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet, while Lavar Scott, in his debut season, will pilot the No.6 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet.
Following their last race at Phoenix Raceway, where Perez secured an 8th place finish and Scott claimed 10th position before the race was halted due to inclement weather, both drivers are eager to compete at the historic Talladega track.
Perez is particularly motivated for redemption at Talladega after a near miss last season. Despite qualifying 3rd and leading 28 laps, Perez narrowly missed out on victory after losing the lead during the final restart of the race, ultimately finishing in 4th place. “We came close to victory lane last season at Talladega,” Perez stated. “This year, I intend to leverage the lessons learned and finally earn an ARCA win for Rev Racing. With the speed we possess, it’s all about execution.”
For Scott, Talladega Superspeedway presents an exciting debut opportunity. Despite an unfortunate incident at Daytona that dashed his hopes of a superspeedway win, Scott remains undeterred. “Competing on a track as storied as Talladega is an amazing opportunity,” Scott stated. “We’ve consistently showcased strong performance this season and securing my first AMS victory at Talladega would be a dream.”
The General Tire 200 is a doubleheader event alongside the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Perez and Scott are scheduled to practice at 4:00 PM ET on Friday, April 19th, with qualifying determined by 2023 owner points before the race kicks off at 12:30 PM ET on April 20th. Spanning 76 laps on the 2.66-mile superspeedway, the race will be broadcasted live on FS1, MRN, and fans can stay updated via Rev Racing’s social media platforms.
