Rev Racing Appoints Daniel Johnson as ARCA Menards Series Crew Chief

February 7, 2024

Concord, NCRev Racing, announced today the official appointment of Daniel Johnson, who will serve as the Crew Chief of the No. 6 Chevrolet in the ARCA Menards Series (AMS) for the upcoming 2024 season. Driver, Lavar Scott, will pilot the No. 6 in his first full-time AMS season under the direction of Johnson and crew.

Johnson, who previously served with Rev Racing from 2009 to 2012, is returning to contribute his experience and skill set to the team as they compete for the 2024 AMS Championship. Boasting over three decades of experience in the racing industry, Johnson, who began his career-changing tires, is steadfast in his determination to achieve success for Rev Racing and Scott.

Throughout his 30-year career, Johnson has garnered victories across various series, including the NASCAR Xfinity Series and AMS. In 2020, he led the Martins Motorsports Xfinity team, followed by leading the No.23 car for Our Motorsports in 2021.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the training aspect of the development program at Rev Racing, Johnson remarked, “I love the opportunity to teach and simultaneously work to make these cars better and faster.” When asked about his connection with Lavar Scott, Johnson highlighted the exciting bond they’ve formed already. “The connection Lavar and I have in such a short time is promising. Coupling that relationship with our manufacturer’s support from Chevrolet, simulator training and wind tunnel data, I truly think we have a chance at the championship.”

Johnson and Scott will showcase their collaborative efforts on February 17th at the Daytona ARCA 200.
