Rev Racing and Andres Perez de Lara Ready for Dirt Round 2
August 30, 2023
Concord, NC- Andres Perez de Lara recently secured a second-place finish during his inaugural dirt racing endeavor, his career-best with Rev Racing. Despite his limited experience on dirt tracks before the Dutch Boy 100 event, Perez demonstrated remarkable skill on the circuit. Both Rev Racing and Perez are committed to sustaining this success within the ARCA Menards Series (AMS) dirt races, aspiring to clinch victory in the Southern Illinois 100 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. The Magic Mile event is scheduled to start on Sunday, September 3rd, and is anticipated to challenge competitors as the clay track is a departure from their accustomed racing.
Perez’s ongoing skill development and progression toward victory lane have placed him in the current second position in the points standings. With a pole position secured and a consistent presence in the top 10 ranks, the No. 2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet team is pursuing victory. Perez conveyed, “The achievement in Springfield truly surpassed my expectations. Given that it was my first experience on a dirt track, the learning curve was steep, and I am confident that the lessons I learned will translate to success in the Southern Illinois 100. My intention is to secure victory and solidify our team’s standing in the series.”
The Southern Illinois 100 itinerary includes a thirty-minute practice session scheduled for 5:30 PM ET, followed by qualifying at 7:00 PM ET. After securing a 12th-place qualification in the Dutch Boy 100, the No. 2 team hopes to earn a more favorable starting position. The main race should commence at 9:11 PM ET, spanning 100 miles, equivalent to 100 laps. Motorsport enthusiasts can catch the dirt track action through platforms, including Fs1, Sirius XM, the Fox Sports App, and Rev Racing’s various social media channels, which will provide real-time behind-the-scenes updates.
