Lavar Scott Set for Double Duty at Dover with NASCAR Xfinity Debut

Concord, N.C. – This weekend, July 19th, 2025, Lavar Scott will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Dover Motor Speedway in the No. 45 Foxxtecca Chevrolet with Alpha Prime Racing. Scott will double up his racing activities, running the NASCAR Xfinity Series BetRivers 200 race and the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 150 race with Rev Racing.

Scott is a sixth-year driver with Rev Racing, competing full-time in the ARCA Menards Series (AMS) in 2025 while piloting the No. 6 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet. Scott is from Carney’s Point, N.J., born into a family with deep roots at the track.

Racing isn’t new to the Scott family, as Lavar’s siblings, mother, and grandfather all raced before him. Scott’s grandfather was a drag racer, and shared his passion with Scott’s mother and her siblings, building them each a drag racing car.

During Scott’s early years, his mother competed in regional drag races, and she eventually gave up her career to support Scott and his older brothers’ careers. Both Lavar and his older brother competed in quarter midgets racing beginning at 5 years old.

Last season, 2024, was Scott’s debut in the AMS as a full-time driver. He earned recognition as the 2024 ARCA Menards Series Rookie of the Year, a year where his best finish was 2nd while having the 2nd most points in the AMS. In 2022, Scott recorded multiple top 5s and 10s in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series, which ultimately positioned him for an AMS East ride in 2023.

Scott was evaluated at the 2019 NASCAR Driver Development Combine and earned a U.S. Legend Car seat with Rev Racing during the 2020 season, which led to a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Touring Series start with Rev Racing in 2021.

Scott’s experience is a demonstration of the developmental model that Rev Racing has had in place since 2009. Max Siegel, the owner of Rev Racing, has made a tremendous impact on the sport by providing opportunities to over 125 drivers from diverse backgrounds, over 100 pit crew members, over 20 interns and countless disadvantaged youths, diverse vendors, scholarship recipients, and young professionals who, some of which, hold positions at the highest levels of the sport. Scott is a testament to the program, after spending five years working his way through many different levels of racing to earn his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start.

On July 18th, Scott will kick off his ARCA duties with practice at 1:40 PM ET, followed by General Tire Pole Qualifying at 2:40 PM and the green flag at 5:00 PM. Scott will compete in the BetRivers 200 on Saturday 4:30 PM at Dover Motor Speedway for his Xfinity debut.
